Sage and Stone brings a rich background including a degree in Sustainable Design, studies in Zoology, project management, and avid birdwatching. Sage and Stone believes volunteering is important, which is why our team volunteers with Casa Latina regularly, and has spent time as the volunteer coordinator of La Hesperia in Ecuador.
Continuing education is vital to our company’s growth, and so we have trained under a master mason, become a Certified Master Soil Builder, and taken sustainable treehouse building courses.
Travis Parent studied Zoology at Washington State University, where he nourished his bird-watching enthusiasm.
He trained under his uncle, a master mason in Rhode Island, learning traditional stone working technique and philosophy. He speaks fluent Portuguese, volunteers with Casa Latina regularly, and is the lead singer in a band.
Sage and Stone is a design/build company that treats our masonry, carpentry, and gardening as our art. In our experience, we've found that there is a major disconnect between the designers and the construction crew, as well as the actual landscape. Workers are often under-qualified and apathetic. This typically results in wasted time, money, and compromised craftsmanship. As the owners, designers, and builders, we are extremely efficient, flexible, and hold ourselves to the highest standard of work.
